AND thankkks to *Nathan Williams for this special little laptop that I can blog on!! So convenient, I love...
Anyway, this is my first weekend out with the HeartSong teams. We're just chilling here in Brownsburg, Indiana. It's been really neat to be around all these wonderful people on ALL the HeartSong teams, and I'm super excited to spend this retreat weekend with them!
It's almost time to head to bed, especially with my 7am early morning (but anything before lunch is early to me. ya know) But I would just like to brag on my host family a tad. So good to meet Jay and Gina Barram, and their son, Thomas. Unfortunately, we won't get to see Jay much past tonight since he is leaving for work early tomorrow morning (he flies all over the place for UPS, sounds AWESOME :) aaand Thomas taking off for a youth event with the church at Twin Lakes (sounds fun) Definitely keep them in prayer for safety and that Tom will have a BLAST!!!
Learned alot from Gina already! She has a great spice cupboard, and I need to remember the name Tastefully Simple: Mulling Seasoning - just add to apple juice, heat it up, and O my wow you got some gooood apple cider!
I've been reading James lately, and am on chapter two in the section on the sin of partiality.
'Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?"
-stop trying to impress the "rich" people whom you think will get you ahead in life. Find those people who need a shoulder to cry on and can invest in your life by their strong faith in God, or find someone who needs to find that faith in God-reach out to them. Jesus went to the poor people and the sinners...
Well my head wants to hit the pillow...so here I go...
Coram Deo,
Katie Sue
